Cool Web Site

Admittedly, we may all have been reading the papers a little more closely than usual during the last few days, but I thought this website has a lot of literacy potential - you can see the daily front pages and easily link to the actual websites of over 574 newspapers from 57 countries. So, especially for teachers of social studies, English, and LOTE, you could have your students compare how an issue is portrayed/reported from different parts of the country and all over the world.
Here's the link to Today's Front Pages.

Cheers, Anita

The Newseum is a real museum in D.C. (actually Arlington) that is run by the Gannett Foundation. I visited it a few years ago with my kids, who thought it was terrific (among other attractions, they could get a recording of themselves in a broadcast booth commenting on news or sports); it has been closed for renovation for the last two years but is reopening in April.

The same Foundation also funds the First Amendment Center, which I have used for freedom of speech and religion materials - very good.

Thank you, as usual, for this great cite. It will come in handy when we talk about media literacy.
